Investigate: Tudors

I worked as the Designer in a team of 5 on Investigate: Tudors during the Octopus 8 Summer Project at Brunel University. The game is currently on the Brunel website where it aims to help current and prospective students with improving their note-taking techniques.

What is it about?

Investigate: Tudors is a narrative based investigative game which purpose is to help players use and develop their note-taking skills. You play various detectives throughout important events in Tudor England and must use different note-taking techniques to solve each scenario.

The game features 5 distinct levels that cover different events across Tudor times, each that aim to test a different note taking skill. From uncovering an assassination attempt on Queen Elizabeth I to planning a heist for a deer on Sir Lucy's estate as William Shakespeare.

Many levels require the player the player to listen to conversations and effectively take notes on the information they are receiving.  Some scenarios may require the player to take notes of the visuals of the area.

Using the information players have gathered throughout their investigations they must fill in reports, be they in the form of a letter to your commanding officer or filling out different tactics for a naval battle versus the Spanish Armada.
