Stompin' Ground
Level Summary
Stompin' Ground is a survival round introduced in Season 5. The round is a simple circular arena where players have to avoid charging rhinos that will knock players backwards if they are hit. Players can qualify if they avoid falling off the stage during the time limit of the level.
There were two major factors that went into the development of this level, that being the composition of the arena and the behaviour of the Rhino's AI, each one normally influencing the direction of the other throughout iteration.

Creating the Arena
My original design was aiming to incorporate multiple height platforms with long winding corridors in order to get moments where players can jump between them in cool last minute dodging, or be involved in an intense chases running down a long corridor.

Through a few iterations it was clear that it was too easy to avoid the Rhinos and so the stage was progressively reduced in size until we reached the more simple circular platform that exists in the final version.

Creating the Rhino
I found that the Rhinos had quite a good level of aggressiveness and their power made sense, but getting hit often led to an instant elimination which isn't that fun. The railing and floating bounce drums were added to give players that extra bit of saving grace and the excitement of having a close shave but still be in the game.
