The original aim of this level was to create a new final race round that utilised the tubes for players to go from platform to platform.

Initial logic-first approach

Playtests found it difficult do to the logical aspect of working out the right route from the pipes plus having it be a final round with less players made the level feel very isolating as players are more spread out.

As a result I pivoted the level to be a more standard race round with a larger amount of players with a bigger influence put on the mystery of where you end up depending on which tube the player takes. To attain this I created a series of different tube setups utilising our variation system so players would find it more difficult to learn exact routes.

Art Resource Consideration

In the very early stages of this level's development I tried to make sure that level would be as non-intensive for the art department as I could due to the concept implying it to be large in size.

• To do this I made it so the each platform was the same size with them coming in 3 small variations, those being a simple flat platform, a platform with ramps and a platform with walls
   

• Using these 3 simple platform types I designed and prototyped out a series of obstacle layouts that can be used that were then spread throughout the level. Doing so reduced the art cost as well as being able to get a good variety of challenges to give players primarily using our obstacles rather than topographical challenge
